Marriott has given a decisive boost to its Son Antem resort by building a second golf course that has all the features of an upmarket layout. It may well be shorter than the neighbouring Este course but it is much more demanding technically speaking and in terms of accuracy, not only because of the trees that line the fairways but also on account of three lakes which come directly into play on fives holes.
The Son Antem Oeste Golf course is also designed in such a way that golfers have to think about and plan their shots and work out the right tactics to negotiate the tighter holes.
