Atalaya Old Course was designed by Bernhard Von Limburger in 1967.The course is flat with wide fairways surrounded by tall pines and luxurious vegetation. The course has large, and mostly elevated greens.
This parkland course features eucalyptus, olive and pine trees, which line the fairways, giving pleasant shade in the summer but melting out their own punishment for inaccurate shots.
The 1st is a forgiving opening hole-downhill slight dog leg left. 3 wood or long iron down the right side leaving short iron. Trees will block out second shot if hit too much to the left.
The 5th is a genuine par 5. A good shot and a long iron or wood will leave you in good shape of the ditch which crosses the fairway at about 70 metres. A short iron third to a long narrow green. A deep bunker guards the right side of the green and is definitely not the place to be!
