Kingsbarns Links Golf Club

The Kingsbarns Golf Links site has long been known for its intimate connection with the sea. The fact that its golf origins date back to 1793 are a testimony to the attributes of the site, which foster ideal conditions for links turf to flourish amid an interesting natural terrain.

This unique part of East Fife has sandy soils, undulating ridges and hollows, Cambo burn running into the sea, and all set immediately against the rugged coastline of the North Sea.

Kingsbarns Golf Links is a tribute to its rich Scottish links heritage. The course is set on a site that meanders along more than one and a half miles of beautiful seashore, and then steps back from the sea, up and over an old cliff creating an unusual amphitheatre effect.

For more than half the holes on Kingsbarn golf course, the sea is directly in the golfers active frame of play, while the other holes offer the most majestic and memorable views of the sea, surging against a rugged and rocky foreshore.

All golf courses by their very nature are different, whether consciously or not, each reflects an underlying philosophy. At Kingsbarns the philosophy has always been to create a tribute to links golf, whilst establishing a unique identity for the course.

Here the desire was to build a modern links golf course that remains true to the traditional values of classic links golf and the early days of the game. The acclaim that has attached itself to the golf course since it opened in the millennium year, more than suggests that this has been achieved.

Be sure to include Kingsbarns Golf Links in your next golf holiday to Scotland, as it has recently been voted in the top five must play golf courses.
