Created by Donald Steel in 1991, the Vila Sol Golf Course is adorned with pine, cork-oak, fig and almond trees. It offers a full 27 holes of dynamic playing set admidst magnificent scenery. It encourages a game of tremendous flexibility, with three loops of 9 holes, each delivering separate and distinct types of challenge.
Vila Sol is a tight course, which could cause problems for wayward hitters. It is an inland course and poses a test for the golfer's strategic skills. Obstacles of water, bunkers and fast greens will test a golfer's accuracy.
Changes to Vila Sol Golf Course have been kept to a minimum in order to maintain the natural state of being.
The outward nine are testing, starting with a par 4 of 381 metres, with a longer par 4 to follow, then another par 4 of 385 metres! The par 5 on the fourteenth is particularly challenging with tricky greens awaiting the player. Low scoring on the first four holes may prove to be the golfer's success on this very well maintained course.
