This has long been the traditional weekend golf course for the good folk of Bordeaux and holiday makers at Pylat, so don't expect any greatly difficult or bold layout here.
In a region of British tradition, architects Blandford and Pierre Hirigoyen laid out a subdued golf course, which embraces but never disrupts the hilly terrain on the front nine and the flatter holes around the back. The broken relief means that the second shot to a number of elevated greens is not leaving the driver in the bag.
Arcachon Golf Course is a short one , where precision is more often better rewarded then length off the tee.
With the lower section of the golf course now fitted with a drainage system, Arcachon is playable all year.
Non-golfers in the family will find lots to do in the seaside resort of Arcachon in the summer, while the friendly family atmosphere in club house overlooking the golf course is as warm as ever.
